Little Tokyo Bike Gang

Followed these folks for a few blocks. They acted like they owned the road, but I swear one guy was a nerd in biker gear.
Little Tokyo Tunes
Got some video (not great quality sorry) of this Japanese one-man band in Japanese Village Plaza. Thought I'd share his performance.
A hold

I organize a coalition of nonprofits for a living. I connect people. Sometimes I wonder though, if I am holding the ropes, or if the ropes have a hold of me.
Light Show
Finished with a work meeting, then walked across the street to catch the light show. I know this exhibit has been here forever, but hey, this was my first time here at night. Thoroughly enjoying the simpler things in life.

Gift from the boss
Sara came back from Maui earlier this week. She defn deserves a vacation. I dont know how she does all her work, takes care of her 2 year old, AND is prepping for another kid on the way.
You crazy, and I appreciate what you do.
Thanks for the "haole" candy, as Christen put it

Gchat with my friend in Jordan
6am on a Saturday
Been trying to go back to sleep the last hour, with little luck. Not sure if it's the sound of the rain, or if I just have too much going through my head right now.
Took a minute to record the sound of the rain. Corny? Yes. But also a bit beautiful in its own simplicity?
Yes.

APABA Dinner
Asian Pacific American Bar Association had a dinner tonight to usher in their new board. The President of the board, and one of the board members are my coworkers at APALC! Karin is taking over as this year's president, and Carmina is on the board. They are awesome people and I was glad to go and support.
I'm not going to lie. A room FULL of lawyers was not very fun. Maybe it was because I'm so tired from this week and didn't want to mingle? As a joke, I was talking with some coworkers that I would pretend to be a lawyer, but an evil one. Everyone at the office had an opinion on what the most evil lawyers were. Insurance defense, environmental (for pollution), big oil, or product liability were all proposed.
One specific coworker mentioned product liability, and the horrors behind it. You have to defend companies when their products cause harm to people. She herself would be going back to the corporate law sector soon, and she'd be doing similar work. According to her, her goal was to stay in it for a few years, make the money, then get out.
I've heard from many, that it's really hard to get out once you're in. Scary shit to knowingly sell your soul for a few years.
Anywho! Here are pics from the night:

Our seats were waaaay to the side, but here's the best photo I could get of the new board being sworn in by Judge Dolly Gee.

Here's a pic of the pins Mark helped make so we could show our love and support for Karin. She was pretty embarrassed by it. I wore it in to work the next day too, and she kept trying to get me to take that pin off

Bob was in Vietnam and bought back a bunch of neat stuff for staff. Got me this pink tie from Vietnam. Pretty boss right?
*I'm trying to be like my brother and incorporate the term "boss" in to my vocabulary. boss = cool
The House of Small Cubes
Tim (brother) showed me this. It's really well done. Won an Oscar last year.
Office Cleanup
Hala and I have had these extra files in our office since she started, 2.5 years ago. We're not talking about a few boxes worth. We're talking about 12 boxes worth of files, plus 4 HUGE cabinets of files as well.
Neither of us have ever used any of these files. Today, we finally got rid of all that shit. We now have a lot of free room, and are looking to find a futon or sofa to fill the space.

This space was completely packed with stuff we never needed to use.

Until we find a sofa or futon, I suppose the leftover Elmo pinata will have to be our decoration.
