Junk in the Garage

IMG_5212

Caught a glimpse of my brother's skateboard in the garage. I think this addition to it was a bit recent. Strange kid he is.

Laura Ling and Euna Lee

Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who were captured in N. Korea spoke at the APEX Gala too. It was nuts just thinking about how these two people speaking in front of me were sentenced to detention camps in N. Korea just over a month ago. Sorry for the shaky video.

Judith Hill Rocks

Heard Judith Hill perform at the APEX Gala last night. She was great. Here are two videos I recorded, sorry if the quality sucks. She's sung in a lot of different things, but you might know her from the Michael Jackson funeral, where she sang Heal the World.

My Week in Pictures

Been so busy this past week. I'm just going to upload a few pictures that describe the week.

IMG_5181

Traffic like this every morning. I've slowly been dulled to the pain that is morning traffic on the 60 freeway.

IMG_5183

Had a meeting with a nonprofit called the Vietnamese Community of Orange County (VNCOC) for work. I met with someone named Kathy, who seems to be someone who walks the walk. We need more of those folks in the community, and we need waaaaay less politics and drama for your mamas. Anywho, drove down Memory Lane that day I was down there, and I felt it was funny enough to mention.

IMG_5185

This cracked me up and I had to take a pic of it. I'm pretty sure the person wasn't trying to be playful :P

IMG_5191

I kept coming back late this week. Otto always tries to guilt-trip me to go out and play when I got back, but I was just too tired.

Played with Otto today. He's grown so much!

Spam

Here's an email I received at work with the title: "Can you treat me like a princess?" Nice.

Bob encouraged me to respond, but I think I'll just pass on this spam.

Hello dear,

My name is Adijata. I am a single, 24 year old woman. I am 5'8" tall, with an average stature, and have never been married. My friends tell me that I am open minded, honest, trustworthy and very caring. I believe honesty and trust are the most important things to build a strong relationship. That is why I have decided to write to you.

Today, I found your email address in an email that was forwarded to my yahoo address. I want to take the opportunity to write, hoping that we may get to know each other, and hopefully become great friends.

Though we have never met, I believe that it is easy to recognize when someone is worth getting to know. I would love to hear from you, so that we can become better acquainted and even exchange photos.

I may not be the most beautiful woman on the outside, but I am extremely beautiful on the inside. If you are a kind and decent person, I hope you will feel free to contact me. I don't care about your background, only that you are warm and friendly to me. So please write me soon.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Adijata

Saturday

Went to the Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture  (FPAC) this weekend. I was there to clipboard for API Equality LA. Trying to get folks to be more aware of same-sex marriage and to gauge where the community is at on the issue. Rough crowd, but here are some pics of the day:

Ports, everywhere.

She had a great voice. Prob pointless to mention since I don't know what her name is and I can't let anyone here listen to her stuff.

GEO from Blue Scholars! I was so close by! Shoudla asked for a picture.
